Laurie @ Thru a Mama's Eyes sent this picture to me. I thought it was so cute. I loved the full color version in Laurie's original, but I wanted to challenge myself and try to give the photo a different feel.

Edit:
In my photography class that I'm taking with my friend Suzanne, the teacher stressed to us that the brain likes to be busy while looking at photographs. Subjects in the middle sometimes can (not always) leave the mind unchallenged. He told us that if you divide a photo into thirds and then set your subject into a "third", it can add interest to that photo. So, I took his advice and tried it out.I also used a combo of Lightroom, Photoshop Elements 7 and some free PSE7 actions I found on the web.
Ah, Bella... you are a beauty!

Beautiful pic. It really makes a difference and looks so professional!
Loved the images you shared of your family vacation!!! You surely don't need my help. Your photography class is paying off. GREAT editing. I am getting a crash course. I'll learn in two weeks what would take me years if I went to school for photography. I am also learning a particular style that happens to be my favorite, so it's a win-win! Email me and let me know what class you are taking and what you are shooting with when you have time! hugs. cherifortner@hotmail.com
Love it! You have such a an eye for beauty. It truly amazes me. Personally I have always loved it when pictures are a little off center. Feel free to edit any picture of mine you like :)

WOW, you did an amazing job with this photo. I have PS as well but can not figure much out. I don't feel like it's very user friendly and I'm pretty computer savvy. Can you stear me in the right direction? With PS, did you get a book, take a class or are you self taught?
Thanks momma!
Gorgeous edit, I am absolutely in love with Lightroom.

wow! That is amazing, you do such great photo editing! I've been trying to talk my husband into getting us a photo editing program, pictures are just so much fun!
Have a great week!
GREAT job!!
I knew you would do amazing things with my pictures! Just love it! The pressure is on for next week's On The Beach theme! Can I do half as good as you! :) I learned about the 'rule of thirds' in a class I took in May. That's why I chose to crop MaryElise jumping off the beam on the beach the way I did. She is mainly in the top third of the picture. Not sure if I got it right but I tried!
Very cool! I've heard of the "thirds" view before, but never used it. I really like what you did! Are you taking an online photography class or is it local? Can I come visit and learn from you?
Wow!! Beautiful!!!
As always, simply incredible!!!!
I love your photography and editing technique. I am jealous I wish I could do that. I love photos too but cna't do the editing. Beautiful photos! And beautiful family...
I really think the crop totally made the picture extra special. I follow the rules of third often. Did you know that you can set up a "Rule of Thirds" grid in Elements that shows each time you open a picture? I love using the grid because I can keep cropping until I have it exactly where I want it. :) I have to tell you, your photos and edits are phenomenal. I really enjoy your creativity!
Your blog is awe inspiring! So creative. And I love what you did with the photo. Hopefully you'll continue to give photography tips!
