First of all, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Susie, Suzanne, Hannah, Joanna and Meghan for filling in for me here at The Love Shack while I was on vacation. You guys did an amazing job! Some posts put a smile on my face, some made me laugh, and some made me choke back tears at the thought of how faithful God is in answering our prayers and how God gently guides us to find our purpose in life. You guys are awesome!
And yes, Joanna, I was really on vacation (insert evil laugh... mu ah ha ha ha!)
OK, so here are the highlights of our family vacation to Mount Hermon summed up in four pictures...
Time 7:25 am
Car packed, Starbucks run complete, caravaning with Grami and Grandpa (the boys rotate riding with them)
Everyone is all smiles!
We did a little of this...
A little of that (still smiling),
but...
... by Thursday, we hit the family melt-down (Why does it always happen on Thursdays?). Too much fun and not enough rest, I guess!
Well, after we got it all out, we picked up where we left off and had a great rest of the week.
We listened to some amazing speakers, and I heard God speak right to my heart (Which I'll save for another post). It was just the boost I needed!

Big Kahuna and I have known each other since we were kids and have been married for almost 15 years. We are passionate about our family, travel and serving God. We love helping people and bringing them hope. We laugh ourselves to tears watching classic episodes of Saturday Night Live and The Office. Summer is our favorite season, and we live for warm evenings playing with the kids on the beach.
Big Surf is 14 years old. He's a voracious reader, focused, and spends hours building things. He is our resident techie and is also learning to play the violin. He loves to spend his free time playing baseball, flag football, or out on the trails by the house building his clubhouse.
Goofy Foot is ten years old. He devours his free reading books like there is no tomorrow. He is also the family comedian. If you see him, ask him to tell you a joke! He is tender-hearted, social and compliant. When he is not outside riding his bike, you'll find him drawing or writing a funny book.
Beach Bunny is three years old. She is our sunshine! She joined our family through the unbelievable gift of adoption. Beach Bunny loves to snuggle with us and carefully takes care of her baby dolls. She is super silly and must say hi to everyone! One word that describes her is "joy".

That is hilarious that she's wearing a shirt that says "sweet" and crying at the top of her lungs. HA HA! So cute! Looks like a fabulous vacation...if you were really on one. How do we know you didn't photoshop yourself into all those fun places? :)

I love those pictures of kids screaming on vacation. I'll always remember something that a friend told me. When you go on a vacation, you go on a vacation from your home, not from your life. It's so true!!! I too noticed the "Sweet" shirt and her screaming at the top of her lungs. Priceless.
Looks like fun besides the screaming part! I love how our dress says "sweet" on it at the moment. Great pics, all 4! I wish I could just post 4 of a vacation, I have a serious picture-posting problem!
Oh, we've alll been there with the vacation meltdowns!! Sjhe is too darned cute to care though, I am sure!!! Looks like a blast!

Sounds horrible but I love crying photos. I think they will make great memories one day.
