The Giraffe Whisperer

During Spring Break the grandparents took the boys away on a mini vacay to Joshua Tree to hike and to do "manly" things. That meant that Beach Bunny got spoiled with two-on-one attention for a few days. We took her to the Santa Barbara Zoo, which is one of my favorite places- and it's right next to the beach. It was such a beautiful day!
One of my favorite memories from the day was laughing at Bunny when she was completely and totally convinced that a black drainage pipe near the elephant exhibit was a giant snake that was going to bite her leg. There was no convincing her otherwise. Another one of my favorite memories was having a giraffe eat right out of my hand! I used my mad giraffe-calling skills, and over he came! Its long, purple tongue felt like sand paper. It was so cool! I totally want a giraffe now. I wonder if our home owner's association would notice?

Wow! That elephant butt is totally hot! :)

Stacy, surprisingly enough, I too would love to own a giraffe. I just think they are so adorable and their long tongues seriously crack me up. I don't think your neighbors would mind. You should go for it! HA HA!

I LOVE the zoo! My niece fed a giraffe here at our zoo one day. She said it's tongue felt like a sausage! Your daughter is adorable as always and I'm cracking up at the elephant picture.
