Friday

The Dessert That Made Me Famous…

Friday night was my twelve year old’s last flag football game of the season.  The afternoon before the game I decided to bake a dessert for everyone.  I busted out the brownie mix and a football shaped cookie cutter.  It was a simple dessert, but… it made me famous.

 brownie madness

Famous?

Yes, famous.

Not the “your name in lights” type, but the more important kind.

I overheard my son telling the other players that I made the dessert they were enjoying.  Then I’m sure I caught his smile from across the room.  For some reason he felt proud. In that moment I mattered to him.

It made me feel, well… famous.
