Frankly, it's Fun at the Farm

There's nothing I like more than sunshine and fresh air, so I packed up the kids (tons of snacks and drinks!) and headed to a local farm. They have the most amazing organically grown fruits and veggies that we pick ourselves. The kids always enjoy all the stuff to climb on and all the animals to feed. Our favorite part was meeting my sister in law there and spending time with the cousins.

Top right: Bunny gets a boost from biggest brother.
Bottom: Cousin H., Goofy Foot and Big Surf just chillin'

I think we live in a unique area. We are close enough to ride our bikes to the beach, yet an hour's drive from one of the busiest cities in the country. Visiting this local farm is such a nice reprieve from the bustle of everyday life. It's kind of like life s-l-o-w-s down while we are there. I make a conscious effort to put away my cell phone and just focus on the kids.

Okay, now it's your turn ...
What do you like to do for fun in the summer?

As always, great pictures!! Usually we have lots of fun in the summer too! We love to play in the pool, work in our garden, and eat watermelon! But so far this summer I've either been too exhausted, its been too cold, or its been too rainy. Here's to an awesome July and August!!

Love the pictures (as usual!!) It looks like my kind of day!

We live in a small town but are about 40 minutes to Louisville or an hour and half to Indy. We do a lot of just hanging out, movie nights and water fights...the water slide stuff like that. We have done a lot of the zoo this summer...picked berries lots of fun stuff.

We have a lot of local farms and they are so great! The past couple weeks I've mostly felt like a summer "chauffeur", summer camp and swimming lessons... Next week will be busy then it will be back to a more normal summer schedule.

Melody, truthfully I'd like to live there, too. The strong cowboys are a nice addition. ;)

Mighty M,
I'm feeling like a chauffeur, too! We finally got to settle down a little this week. Ahh! Much better now! :) Love your blog theme, by the way. Very fitting!

Well to tell you the truth, that is the kind of summer we are planning. We're calling it a Staycation. However, life gets in the way, Emily's been sick, lots of appointments. Hoping to start our staycation soon......
