Wordful Wednesday

Photobucket

I've always wanted to try to add a texture to a photo in Photoshop Elements. After I tucked the kids in bed tonight, I gave it a try. I took the picture below ...

...and placed the texture (below) on top. I lowered the opacity of the layer so the boys would show through. Then I lowered the amount of blue in the clothes so they would look a little more rustic. I burned around the edges to give it more depth. I also removed almost all of the texture from the boys' faces.
I can see the flaws, but with more practice I hope to get this right one day. I'm havin' fun in the meantime!

Hop on over to Seven Clown Circus for more Wordful Wednesdays.

That is a great picture!!! And I love that you told us how you added texture! Thanks a bunch--I'll store this away for the day I FINALLY get photoshop. I'm dying for some shoppin' fun!

I love your blog, by the way, and I will certainly be visiting often! ^_^

Love it. I am still trying to figure the whole texture thing. I haven't gotten one that I love yet but I have been practicing.

Did you get that link I sent you? I hope I sent the right one, it was a ton of free fonts for blogs and digital scrap booking.

Can I just say how much I drool over your photos???? You do awesome work! It is on my to-do list to take a class this year to learn how to actually use my camera! And then maybe, just maybe after that I will figure out how to edit..... Well, after I get the stinkin' sensor cleaned so I don't have a smudge on every pic...

Wow that is really good. Now next post teach us step by step moves on how we can learn to do that too. :)

I am SO clueless in photoshop that I often get mad and shut it down. Its pretty sad really.

Sigh.

Beautiful picture by the way.
