We finally have a walker!
Hooray!
Isabella has been walking for just over two weeks now. She decided one day to try and stand on her own, and the next day she was walking (Thank you, Jaimee, for the walking tips). It went that quickly! It is so fun to see her little personality develop. She is silly and happy-go-lucky until she wants to accomplish something. When she's got a goal, she's all business until she's accomplished it!
In the first video (Oct. 8th), Isabella is learning to stand on her own. We'll never forget how amazed she was that her feet could hold her up. She kept touching her feet in curiosity. Have I ever told you how much she loves her feet- esp. her toes? She... loves. her. toes! Funny girl! She falls at the end of the video, but rest assured there were no tears. She's tough as nails... unless you hurt her feelings!
In the second video (Oct. 9, 2008), she's up and walking and oh-so-proud of herself.
This Wednesday will mark six months that Bella has been home. I can't believe it! Her growth and development has been remarkable. She really loves to learn, talk and sing. I don't remember if the boys could sing at 15 months or not. Maye it's just a "girl" thing. We can actually recognize the melodies she sings to us.
I'm going to jot down a few of her words, or time will get the best of my memory: bear, eyes, papa, grandma, nana, dada, mama, baby, blankie, Jo (for Josh), Key (for Lukey), bath, beeball (for basketball), bird, up, yum-yum, duck, read, and her favorite of all... MORE!
Sounds for: dog, cat, goat, lion, bird, duck, cow, horse, choo choo, car
O.K, I'm off to bed... !Hasta manana!

Big Kahuna and I have known each other since we were kids and have been married for almost 15 years. We are passionate about our family, travel and serving God. We love helping people and bringing them hope. We laugh ourselves to tears watching classic episodes of Saturday Night Live and The Office. Summer is our favorite season, and we live for warm evenings playing with the kids on the beach.
Big Surf is 14 years old. He's a voracious reader, focused, and spends hours building things. He is our resident techie and is also learning to play the violin. He loves to spend his free time playing baseball, flag football, or out on the trails by the house building his clubhouse.
Goofy Foot is ten years old. He devours his free reading books like there is no tomorrow. He is also the family comedian. If you see him, ask him to tell you a joke! He is tender-hearted, social and compliant. When he is not outside riding his bike, you'll find him drawing or writing a funny book.
Beach Bunny is three years old. She is our sunshine! She joined our family through the unbelievable gift of adoption. Beach Bunny loves to snuggle with us and carefully takes care of her baby dolls. She is super silly and must say hi to everyone! One word that describes her is "joy".

I know it's only been a month or so since I've seen you guys and Bella looks like she has grown a ton, and her hair got longer.
I love your videos. You Bella girl!
Been wondering about you...thanks for the update! Malaena-Sloan has been standing in the middle of the room since 9 1/2 months or so. She will not allow us to help her walk, so she's still walking 7-8 steps "on her own." She's bull-headed like me, God love her! CHeri
the video of Bella is too precious. It is so much fun to watch these early days when they are learning an d waddle so cute.
What a blessing these little ones are to so many of their families. WE will not cease in our praying for the other Bella.
Enjoy your gift! Love, Lisa

Can Gilli borrow the walking tips too? We are no where close to walking yet and almost 15 months! Email me if you have a chance, please.

Yeah Bella! You go girl! That is so precious. Reminds me of when my Bella started walking (17 months!) She would go back and forth, back and forth. Wasn't long until she was running!

Yay Bella! Way to go girl! We are sooooo proud of you. And look at all of the words you are saying, I don't think that our Isabela is saying that many words yet and she a little older than you. Perhaps you can teach her a few of your vocabulary words. :-)
