Angry!

Yep, that's right... I'm angry! Sometimes this adoption stuff just gets to me. I'm SICK and TIRED and DONE with this whole thing!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've had FOUR YEARS of heart-break trying to adopt domestically. Last summer we turned to international adoption, and now it looks like we might not get Isabella home in time because our STUPID Department of State doesn't want any more Guatemalan children in the US. That's the only explanation I can think of. Yesterday's hopeful news that the Hague/Ortega cut off would be pushed back 4 months is being shut down by our own Department of State. Here's a quote from Guatadopt:

"US Consul General John Lowell is once again attempting to interfere with Guatemala's rights as a sovereign nation. He is apparently requesting a meeting with all the Guatemalan parties in Congress in an attempt to strong arm them into not delaying Ortega and the Hague."

Can you believe this baloney? I HATE this. I'm FULLY aware of the fact that the DOS is limiting pre-approvals right now. That's SO crap! They can pre-approve those visas within days if they want to. They certainly did last month. Now the wait is back to 60 days. DOS doesn't want anymore children to have the chance of getting through PGN by the end of the year. Guess what? That's us. We can't catch a break.

I know that God can move mountains, but I think sometimes He chooses not to in our case. My heart is broken for Isabella. My heart is just broken.

You don't know me but I felt compelled to write after I read the last line of your post. I love your blog. You are a woman of faith, a HUGE amount of faith. Your blog is testament to that. Just remember that God's delays are not His denials. The devil is working overtime here. Don't let him get hold of your heart and start doubting Him. Hang in there. Now is the time to pray even harder and fight for Christ. You know I am right...:)

Stacy,
Why is the wait back up to 60 days?? That's what I thought, too...but got mine much sooner. You just never know. Hang in there and don't let this roller coaster get you down too much (ha - now if I could only take my own advice!) I agree with anonymous that we just have to keep our faith that we'll have our little girls home with us in his perfect timing. Sometimes his timing is even quicker than what we thought, or even more perfect than we can imagine. Lots of love to you right now!! ((hugs))

Hang in, hang in!! The latest word from the DOS is that in process cases will be grandfathered in no matter what the effective date of the laws end up being. So it doesn't matter if its 1/1 or 4/1 or 4/30...as long as the grandfather amendment is passed (next week??) we'll be okay.

Keep the faith!!
Hugs, Jen :)

Stacy, thanks for your nice post on my blog.
I just wanted to tell you that I really feel convinced that the DOS will not win this issue. After the flack they cought for the last insane post on their website stating that they wouldn't continue to process cases, I think they are going to be a little more careful now. Personally, I think they were overjoyed by the January 1 cutoff date b/c they want to wash their hands of this situation all together. Little do they know that we parents will not be held back and that a mother/parent fighting for her child is the strongest force one could reckon with. Multiply that by 5000(?) PAPs.
They will complete your case, my case, and every case in process. IN MY OPINION. But you are right, they CERTAINLY could issue those PAs so much faster. To think they go slow on purpose is so angering, to say the least. Isabella Grace is beautiful and when I see the photos of you all together as a family...well, there's no question that she completes you all. It's a beautiful sight! And I just have every confidence that things will continue to move smoothly for you. You've had quite a good stroke of luck so far, with your Guatemalan adoption. I'll keep checking on you...just like I do every day!

Dear Stacy,
I know that your heart hurts right now, but remember - none of this is taking the Lord by surprise. He knows exactly when your precious girl is coming home, and no government can change that date. Your PA is coming!!

Stacy, I really feel in my heart that you will bring Isabella home. I hope you get PA very soon and that the DOS stops playing these games. This is just ridiculous. Don't let them get to you. Keep praying and believing.

Don't give up! We have something so precious waiting for us in Guatemala. God led us on this path and He is bringing our babies home! I have no doubt in my mind! It may look bad at times, but God loves his children and He will bring them home to us!!!

You are going to get your PA soon and back into PGN! The DOS is not going to stop that from happening!! Do something special for yourself this weekend! You deserve it! I am praying for you! Keep your chin up!!

Stacy,
I have no doubt that Bella's case will be grandfathered in. The whole process is infuriating and you have every right to feel defeated. Just know that all of these people who have posted comments before me are RIGHT! God's timing can sometimes be painful in the moment. But it is glorious in its perfection. Usually I feel that once I'm on the other side. I'll continue to pray for your whole family.

So glad I met you in that jacuzzi. You have really blessed me.

Hang in there. It is so hard to have that blind faith that God requires of us, but He can work miracles!!! Praying for a Christmas miracle for you and sweet Isabella.

Hi Stacy - go to the forums...it seems as though there have been various conversations from PAPs with people at DOS. They are reassuring everyone that in-process cases are going to be grandfathered in. The current debate seems to be more of the "new" adoptions. Remember...adoption is not for the faint of heart...and you my friend...are NOT faint of heart! You were chosen by King Jesus for a reason...you know how to strap on your armor and march! Keep marching girl...left left left right left! :) Love, Dayna

I just want to share this verse with you... "Without wavering, let us hold tightly to the hope we say we have, for God can be trusted to keep His promise" Hebrews 10:23. I believe that the sign you recieved from him in that church service in Guat., was a love note of His promise for you and your Bella.

There were SO MANY times in the past 15 months that it looked as though our adopiton would end and we would never get the daughter we tried for 6 years to get. I would love to encourage you and if you want to talk, you can feel free to e-mail me at asalemi@cox.net.

I will be praying for you... but hold TIGHTLY to the hope you have in Him and stand FIRM and let Him do what He has promised He will do when He called you to bring home your precious daughter.

We feel your pain and frustration too. But, having said that, we are trusting that what God has led us to, He will lead us through. I believe that's true for you too. Keep the faith-God is good all the time.
