We're Up and WALKING!

We finally have a walker!
Hooray!
Isabella has been walking for just over two weeks now. She decided one day to try and stand on her own, and the next day she was walking (Thank you, Jaimee, for the walking tips). It went that quickly! It is so fun to see her little personality develop. She is silly and happy-go-lucky until she wants to accomplish something. When she's got a goal, she's all business until she's accomplished it!

In the first video (Oct. 8th), Isabella is learning to stand on her own. We'll never forget how amazed she was that her feet could hold her up. She kept touching her feet in curiosity. Have I ever told you how much she loves her feet- esp. her toes? She... loves. her. toes! Funny girl! She falls at the end of the video, but rest assured there were no tears. She's tough as nails... unless you hurt her feelings!

In the second video (Oct. 9, 2008), she's up and walking and oh-so-proud of herself.

This Wednesday will mark six months that Bella has been home. I can't believe it! Her growth and development has been remarkable. She really loves to learn, talk and sing. I don't remember if the boys could sing at 15 months or not. Maye it's just a "girl" thing. We can actually recognize the melodies she sings to us.

I'm going to jot down a few of her words, or time will get the best of my memory: bear, eyes, papa, grandma, nana, dada, mama, baby, blankie, Jo (for Josh), Key (for Lukey), bath, beeball (for basketball), bird, up, yum-yum, duck, read, and her favorite of all... MORE!

Sounds for: dog, cat, goat, lion, bird, duck, cow, horse, choo choo, car

O.K, I'm off to bed... !Hasta manana!

Friday

PLEASE Pray

I'm asking for your prayers.

Remember my last post about Susie as Mom of the Month? She's a dear blogging friend. Last night her baby (Bella) was diagnosed with Leukemia. Please pray for them as the doctors are figuring out the best course of treatment. I am just heartbroken for them, but I know that my God is all powerful!!! There are two verses that I am clinging to today for them. They come from 2 Corinthians 9 & 10, "My power is made perfect in weakness... For when I'm weak, then I am strong."

Susie's Bella recently celebrated her first birthday. Here is one of my favorite pictures.

You can find her blog HERE. Please let her know you'll be praying.

Tuesday

Dinner Tonight

Oh, man! I am SO BAD. I am sitting here eating the Halloween KitKats that I hid from myself in the freezer. Dang! These are GOOD!!!

Oh, shoot! How many did I eat? Based on the pile of empty wrappers on the counter, I think I did some damage. Whatever... Chocolate makes me happy today... It's the little things, right?

I'm avoiding going to the grocery store, so I'm trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight with what I've got on hand.

I've got it!

Here's what's on the menu for dinner tonight:

Breadstick Mummy Dogs

and

Oozing Apple Monster Mouths

You can find the recipes HERE.

Niiice! I may nominate myself for mom of the month now. Never mind, I think that award already belongs to Susie (Clickety HERE). She transforms her whole stinkin' house into a haunted house for the month of October- with dance floor! I'm a loser.

I'll leave you with a little Halloween "Harvest Moon" pic just because I love y'all...

Have a happy Tuesday!!!

... and eat some chocolate!

Sunday

Friends Forever

Isabella and I had the great privilege of getting together again with Suzanne and Faith (Check them out HERE). It was so fun to sit and catch up, watch the girls play, and enjoy the sunshine together. I can't believe how cool God is that he connected our families. I had been following her blog since the beginning of her adoption journey. It wasn't until June that I realized that she was practically my neighbor! Needless to say, I am so happy to have the girls grow up together. They have lots in common. Speaking of things in common, it turns out that Suzanne's husband and my brother were great friends in college and played on the same college baseball team together. My bro says that Suzanne's hubby is a legend!

Here is a little photo collage of the girls. Check out Faith's hand painted outfit. It says, "Guatemalan Princess Faith". So cute!
